Curvy Girl Outfits for Dates

If you’re going on a date, you’ll definitely want to make a great first impression. One of the best ways to do this is to wear a great outfit. Whether you’re going on a first date, or you’ve been out with someone you really like a couple of times and want to continue to make things interesting, stylish clothing is a great way to accomplish this. You’ve got lots of stylish options when you want to dress your curvy figure in an outfit that will accentuate all your best features. Here are a few shopping tips to keep in mind when you’re looking for curvy girl outfits. If you want to wear a long dress on your date, choose one with a high split so that you can show off your legs without bringing too much attention to your thighs. It’s best to choose a dress with long sleeves and a slightly high neckline, so that your legs are the focal point of the dress. When it comes to shoes, faux leather shoes with designs on the heels and straps can make a great addition to curvy girl outfits like a solid-color dress or romper. Or, you can wear the same style of shoe in a classic color like black, which means you can pair the shoes with virtually any pencil skirt or mini dress. The shoes make your legs look especially long and are a great way to show off your pedicure, since the front of the shoe is made from clear vinyl.A strapless maxi dress is also a great choice when you’re looking for curvy girl outfits that will flatter your figure without showing too much skin. A large floral print is especially romantic and the strapless style makes your neck and shoulders look more elegant.

The flowy nature of the shirt accents your hips without bring too much attention to them, and is smaller in the waist, which adds more definition to your figure. Plus Size Outfit Ideas Using Color

If you’ve got a full figure, you don’t have to shy away from color. There are lots of fashionable choices out there that will allow you to show off your curves while wearing colors that bring out your skin tone and make you look vibrant and confident. Here are a few helpful tips for plus size outfit ideas that feature bold colors.A mini dress with bold print is a creative way to show off your outgoing style while flattering your curves. A dress that features graphics and a combination of images and letters means that you don’t have to wear a dress that is extremely form-fitting. However, it’s important to choose a dress that fits well and doesn’t look too baggy. A dress that falls right above the knee helps to make your legs look longer and gives balance to your torso and hips. You can finish off the look with sandals or heels in a neutral color like black or beige, and a bold lip is also a great choice for an outfit like this.
If you’re into maxi dresses, an outfit that features accents of bold hues on a background of a darker color is the way to go. These neon splashes of color paired with navy blue makes you look long and slender. The definition at the top of the dress brings more attention to your waist and makes you look smaller up too while drawing attention to your bust and making your arms and neck appear slimmer. Be sure that the dress falls right at the ankles to elongate the legs and make it easier to walk in the dress. A long, flowing skirt helps to hide any information, and you can finish off the look with black, strappy sandals to balance out the look.

Which of these outfits will you be adding to your wardrobe next? Let us know!

A special thank you to Fenisha for participating in my recent blog post discussion entitled “ Single moms date with caution”. She gave great advice and was very insightful for her response. Fenisha also earned a Charming Charlie Hand bag for her participation. See her response down below. Have a great week Diva’s.

“ i think 6 months-1 year depending on the progress of the relationship. If the person you are dating makes you more angry than happy then that should be a sign that he should not meet the kids because more than likely the relationship won’t last. If he doesn’t have children i would ask if he likes kids generally. if he does, i would ask how much time he spends with them and what activities does he engage himself in with them. also i like to ask if he is strict, lenient, protective etc and if the kids respect him. one warning sign would be if he speaks down to females. others would be if he doesn’t like kids and if he is arrogant and has very little ambition”

Fenisha won a Charming Charlie hand bag. Congratulate Fenisha by leaving a comment down below!!!

Single Moms Date With Caution

This has been a much needed discussion. You will find a screen shot of comments I found online about a discussion men were having about single mothers. Now just so you will know this discussion is not designed to make single mothers feel bad about themselves, nor is it meant to make you feel unwanted. Instead, it is designed to make you aware of the kind of men lurking in our communities.

This is a new age of the internet where people can be totally honest without the world seeing who they are. We all know when we go on dates men always put their best foot forward (while hiding their true intentions). Are all men horrible? Of course not, but you need to be aware of what’s out there and you also need to be cautious of who you bring around your children. As a mental health counselor I have found that a healthy family foundation is the most important part of a child’s life. Parents are a child’s role model that means if you’re in an abusive relationship they may end up in abusive relationship.

Please use this forum not just to state your opinion but to also give support and advice to other women who are struggling in the dating world.

Let’s start the discussion!
How long should it take for you to bring someone you’re dating around your kids?

What questions do you ask someone you’re dating? Good example is do you like kids? Or How is his relationship with his own children?(if he does not interact with his own kids or blames the mother of his kids for not getting to see them, or is always blaming the mother of his kids for something. Than that’s a clear indication he is not good dating material lol.)

What are some warning signs that should turn you off quick will make you immediately cut ties with this individual?

Please reshare this blog, it may help other women. Use the facebook share bottom above or simply copy and paste the link below to your google plus, facebook or other forms of social media.

Child molestation: Dirty secrets kept in families

So I just read an article posted by Madamnorie referencing an interview done by Vibe Vixen with actress KeKe Palmer. Keke mentioned that she was molested by her female cousin and her mother was also molested by a family member. As I read some of the comments on this post people said she needed counseling and should not be airing this out as a form of therapy and others felt she was making excuses for the people in her family who had molested other children within her family.

This seems to be a dirty secret kept in families as you know( I hope your read my most recent blog on victim blaming) I am no fan of grown folks molesting children. As a mental professional I noticed that sometimes when kids have been molested they molest other children not understanding that this behavior is not appropriate.

When grown folks have sexual videos or sex magazines laying around the house for children to consume they get curious in trying those images on other innocent children, completely robbing them of their care-free child hood.
Allow me to share a story with you. I was watching a TV show that mentioned how a teenage girl was molested by her pastor. Well when she went to tell other grown ups in the church and they made her apologize for what they consider spreading lies on their so called innocent pastor. Later on another child came forward to the authorities and he finally got caught.

These predators need to be brought to justice and not be given BS probation. Probation is simply not good enough. Adults should never break a child’s spirit when they come to you and address something as serious as molestation. As far as Keke goes, I think she needs intense therapy and I hope she is getting that.

According to US Education and Facts/Statistics Top of Form
Bottom of Form

“Approximately 1.8 million adolescents in the United States have been the victims of sexual assault. Research conducted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that approximately 1 in 6 boys and 1 in 4 girls are sexually abused before the age of 18.” One million is way too many child sexual assault cases.

Best advice, know who your child is around, try to eliminate sleep overs( I’ve had to many cases reported that a child was either visiting or sleeping over a friend’s house which resulted in a child being molested by someone’s sibling or parent). Make sure you meet the parent in person, I don’t care if you have a 16 year old, and kids will tell you anything to get out of the house. Make sure you ask the parent will there be adult supervision. Don’t be afraid to explain the difference between appropriate touch vs inappropriate and start that conversation at age 4.

Lastly, make your child feel safe, let them know if anyone should do something that makes them uncomfortable, they can come to you any time(predators often convince children it’s their little secret or if they tell they will do harm to their parents), make your kids feel like you will protect them against anything.

Tell me your thoughts on his situation. Leave a comment down below.

I Call Bull Sh** On Victim blaming

Well for starters I can’t help but to side eye the hell out of people who put political and religious figures
on a pedestal.

People who look up to these so called public figures in their eyes they can do no wrong. Often times we will hear people say she deserved it, look at the way she dress, or she deserved it she was partying with a group of guys she knew what she was doing or he is a good man he would never do a thing like that, she should be ashamed of herself. People are people no matter the status, people do wrong, some even live double lives, while preaching a perfect life in public but behind closed doors they engage in deviant behaviors only exposed to their victims.

Let’s not forget John Wayne Gacy who was considered a likable man, well respected community figure and a loved family man, all the while he molested and murdered 33 teenage boys. So people can stop with the “he’s my poster, I know him he wouldn’t hurt anyone”. I encourage women to be brave, to not be silent for the sake of someone’s career or fear of being shamed for something they did not ask to happen to them may they be a young girl or an adult woman you have every right to report a rape or an assault.

Women wise up and support each other, remember I am my sisters keeper. Leave a comment down below tell me your thoughts on victim blaming.
